Weeping Window of Poppies 2023

We have launched a special project to recreate the Weeping Window that was the highlight of the 2014 project at the Tower of London to mark the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War One.

There is a local care home near the base of Veterans Bereavement Support that is home to quite a few veterans who served in the 1940s and during National Service and we want to work with them and the wider communities to create a Knitted Weeping Window.

This would flow from the top floor to the garden and then train along the hedges if we can.
Each Knitted Poppy will represent some who served our Country over the last 110 years who died in conflict or those who have served our Country over the years.

We need in the region of 3000 knitted poppies to make this special project work, we hope that if you are reading this page, that you can help us reach this target.

The completed poppies can be sent to the following address:
Veterans Bereavement Support
11 Freda Routh Gardens
Fair Oak
Hampshire

SO50 7LY

If you would like to knit poppies in remembrance of a loved one, let us know the names and we will create a special book of remembrance with the names added.

We would ideally like all the knitted poppies by Mid-October 2023

Poppies can be any size
