Veterans Bereavement Support is a community-based organisation providing free advice and information for all those who have served or have served in the Armed Forces and Merchant Navy over the years.

We also support the Emergency Services Family

We also provide ongoing bereavement care for families and friends of those who have served and who struggle with the passing of someone special.

We are run by a small team of dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills, and talents for the benefit of others.

No one here is paid - everyone volunteers their time, skills and talents to help others. We have been acknowledged for our services and have worked with many veterans and their families over the past three years.

Veterans Bereavement is a totally independent organisation. We are here for veterans and their families throughout the year as we have been since 2014.

We chose not to be formally connected to any ex-service organisation as we believe in independence.

We put people before politics every time.

We are not funded by any organisation and rely on donations to keep our services running.

Our Heritage

Our founder comes from a long history of armed forces services to our Country.

  • Paternal Great Grandfather served in World War One

  • Maternal and Paternal Grandparents served during World War Two and a Grandfather is a D Day Veteran

  • Great Uncles served in World War Two and beyond - one of whom was a prisoner of war

  • Uncles who have long careers in the Royal Navy and Royal Engineers

  • Cousin who served in the Household Division

  • Father in Law who served in REME during National Service

  • Friends who have served in all three armed services.

Our Volunteers have either served or their immediate family have served.

Support for All

We are totally inclusive and will support all men and women who have served our County in times of War and Peace.

As an independent community organisation we work with all organisations and families equally to ensure that every Veteran has a fitting final journey.

Our Padre

Our padre is an ordained inclusive minister with many years experience of working with veterans and their families.

He creates bespoke services for Veterans Funerals and whilst based on the South Coast he has been known to travel across the Country to take services.

He has a special way of linking the service of a veteran into the words of commendation that is unique.

In line with usual fees for celebrants/padres the fee is £190 of which 50% goes to Veterans Bereavement Support
