From the family of CPL Harold Hartley -Royal Signals -1948 -1956

Hello Paul

Please let me start with my apologies for the late reply. On behalf of the whole family we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your letter arrived the day before the funeral. Thank you so much for all your hard work getting them to us in time, the poem you sent was just what we needed to get through the funeral. The family are very proud of his service and having someone else be proud and thankful gives you a massive boost. Please carry on with your hard work and devotion to the veteran's. Once more THANK YOU to everyone involved.

Veterans bereavement has made a big difference to our life.

Thankyou Paul.

Mick Walsh.

Dear Paul

I would like to a special thank you for all your help over the past few weeks and an even special thank you for the beautiful service yesterday especially at the Crematorium when you read the words and looking at me I felt dad was watching over me. Everyone said how beautiful the words were and Nimrod in the background. The highlight was when Paul and I started singing to We’ll Meet Again and then the blast of voices joining in.

Dad is home with me now, I collected him this morning. He is sat on his bed with his beret and bible. Today has been emotional for me as I think it has finally hit me dad has gone. The beautiful words you put on Facebook said it all.

Once again thank you for a beautiful send-off it would not have happened without you.

Kindest regards and best wishes, as we say We’ll Meet Again.

 Paul and Irene Richards

My father sadly passed away on 11/4/17. As an ex Gunner from the disbanded 40th Field Regiment his passion for his army days followed him through life until his tragic death aged 71 years. Paul and his team helped advise us, guide us, and bring a 'military' theme to our father’s funeral.

He recommended a funeral director - also an ex-service man who showed compassion and understood our family’s needs, we also had a bag piper as dad originated from bonny Scotland. We cannot thank Paul enough for everything he did, our family are comforted in knowing we have given dad the amazing send-off he deserved.

A remarkable man with a sizeable heart. When you are in enough pain dealing with loss; Paul will add balance, dignity, respect and ultimately guidance on what to do and who to speak to at this very difficult time from Simon Quigley

To the Veterans Bereavement Support Team

Just to say a big thank you for all your help and support in organising the RAF Standard Bearer for the funeral Service of the late Reginald Clive Hester.

The family were extremely grateful, especially as Mark Meaton (Archivist 656 Squadron Association) was able to provide some information about Reg's service history, which has been to be passed onto his grandson and in turn will be passed on his great grandchildren.

Kind regards

Paul, Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but I have been away, I would just like to thank you and all the veterans and their families who attended my friend and fellow Royal Marine Ray Derbyshire`s Funeral, With the Standard and the mourners it left a big lump in our throats. Ray would have been so proud and the small family members who did attend were so moved by it all. Please thank them all from both me and the relatives of Ray. May all ex Royal Marines experience what you did when it is their turn. Very good memories of it all now.

Regards and thanks.

Ken.

Can I just say a big thank you for the arrangements you put into place for my brother’s funeral yesterday? It was a fitting tribute for my brother. Words cannot express how thankful all the family are for what you and the regiment did.

Thanks once again

Tim's funeral went very well today, and we had a lot of positive comments about what a "lovely service" it was.  We had a guard of honour made up of four representatives from the Royal Naval Association and our three buglers.

Our standard bearer led Tim's coffin into the chapel and he stood at the front of the chapel, next to Shirley, so that everybody was able to see him perform the dipping of the standard during The Last Post, followed by its raising shortly afterwards.

Lots of people commented on the incredible sound of our three buglers which was, as always, a truly memorable part of the service.  It was very good of Tony, from the Royal Naval Association, to read The Navy Prayer and Tim's children were overwhelmed to receive the memorial pins and letters that you sent to me for them.

So, thanks again for all your help Paul and I have no doubt that we will be in touch with you very soon.

 Warmest regards, Ian, and Shirley

I saw and spoke with two of our Officers yesterday who attended the funeral service of John Golden and they said what a brilliant send-off he had. Thank you so much for the efforts you went to make this happen. WW2 Standard was returned safely and back in its box it was deservedly used on this day.

 Kind regards Dee

I would just like thank you so very much for my Dads Veteran Memorial pin along with the touching letter that accompanied it. I was so overwhelmed at how quickly this was sent as my dad’s funeral was only last Thursday. I was unaware that you also provide a veteran’s funeral. So, receiving your beautiful pin & letter today has brought more tears to my eyes, but in a very proud and humbled way. Thank you, Paul, so very much. I do believe when I emailed you that you mentioned dad would also be put in the book of remembrance and on a poppy. I will soon be donating to your wonderful cause and all the you do for deserving servicemen. many thanks again Helen Wright daughter of Corporal Rodney Cooper of the 1st Battalion Kings Own Borders x

I would like to thank Paul from Veterans Bereavement Support for all you did for us as we mourned the loss of our Aunt Norah on Friday 15th September. You were there for myself & Linda every step of the way and fulfilled our every need, comforting us and supporting us like you would your own family. The compassion & professionalism you showed towards us was as Linda said above and beyond the call of duty & we were overwhelmed by the amazing work yourself & Paul did to ensure Norah got the send-off she deserved & for all the touching moments & extra research Paul did on Norah. You really are a special Team and I want to highly recommend & thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Many, many thanks for all your help and support in arranging Reece's funeral. The day went perfectly, and everybody involved (myself included.... Myself included!) was quite overwhelmed by the military support offered, not only on the day, but during the build up to his funeral. Take care and many thanks once again.

Warmest regards, Ian
